Aircraft Mechanic (Mechanical/Technical Operations)
Aircraft mechanics help ensure the highest level of safety, comfort and convenience. They specialize in preventive maintenance; which include inspecting aircraft engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurized sections, accessories and other parts of the aircraft. They also do the necessary maintenance and replacement of parts. Aircraft mechanics keep records related to maintenance performed on the aircraft, conduct inspections following a schedule based on the number of hours the aircraft has flown, calendar days since the last inspection, cycles of operation, or a combination of these factors.
With nothing more important than the safety of our passengers and crew, SkyBahamas� Mechanics and other Technical Ops team members are instrumental in ensuring that every component of every plane is in faultless working order prior to takeoff.
Opportunities may exist for technicians at a variety of skill levels. Roles within the Mechanical/Technical Operations division include:

Job Summary:
- Performs all assigned maintenance duties in accordance with SkyBahamas� GPM
- Ensures proper completion of all company forms on all work assigned and performed
- Ensures proper handling of all parts, units, assemblies, and aircrafts while in the repair process
- Ensures that all documentation is kept current as to open discrepancies and completed corrective actions
- Ensures the adequacy, correctness, and completion of all associated and required documentation for all maintenance work performed or inspections conducted
- Maintain the work area in a safe, clean and operative condition and ensuring all tools are accounted for at completion of all assigned tasks
- Responsible for tooling and equipment used for aircraft maintenance
- Notifies the Director of Maintenance and all other appropriate personnel of any condition that would compromise the airworthiness of the company aircraft(s)
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Bilingual skills are encouraged but not required
- Must have strong listening and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to successfully complete courses in the appropriate training path for the job area, and be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job
- Must maintain a valid Airframe and/or Powerplant Certificate
- Must be properly rated for any work he is approving for return service
